How we get permission to text you
Effective September 9, 2026
TapeMeazure sends text messages about one thing: the residential construction project you are working on or having built. Nobody is added to it by a list, a purchase, or a guess. This page shows exactly how permission is obtained, in the words that are actually used.
1. Spoken permission — the script
When a builder takes a homeowner's or subcontractor's mobile number in person or over the phone, this is what is said, word for word:
"I'd like to put your mobile number into TapeMeazure, the software I use to run my jobs. It will text you updates about this project — schedule changes, delivery times, selections that are due, and answers when you ask me something. It's a few messages a week while your job is running, and nothing else. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop them any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. Is it alright if I add you?"
The number is entered into TapeMeazure only after the person answers yes.
2. Written permission — the clause
The same permission appears in writing on the construction contract a homeowner signs and on the work order a subcontractor signs. This is the clause, printed directly above the signature line:
Text message updates. By providing your mobile number and signing below, you agree to receive text messages from TapeMeazure about this project — schedule changes, delivery notices, selection deadlines, payment reminders, and replies to your questions. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help. See tapemeazure.com/privacy.html and tapemeazure.com/terms.html.
3. There is no text-in keyword
TapeMeazure does not advertise a keyword to text in order to join. There is no sign-up short code, no "text JOIN to…" on any sign, ad, or web page, because no such program exists. Permission is given directly to a builder by a person on his job, in one of the two ways above, and in no other way.
4. What happens after
- Messages relate only to that person's own project.
- Every message identifies TapeMeazure by name.
- Every message carries STOP to opt out. STOP is honored immediately.
- HELP returns contact details for a person, not a robot.
- No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
